On Wednesday, 24 December, Otakoï Ukrainain Restaurant invites you to experience one of the most meaningful Ukrainian traditions — Sviatyi Vechir (Святий вечір) — the Christmas Eve dinner celebrated by the first star.
This sacred meal features 12 symbolic meatless dishes, representing the twelve apostles and the spirit of unity.
The menu focuses on grains, vegetables, mushrooms, and fish - no meat, honouring a centuries-old tradition of simplicity and gratitude.
From kutia (sweet wheat pudding with honey and poppy seeds) to borshch, varenyky, holubtsi, and uzvar (traditional fruit drink), every dish carries its own meaning and blessing.
