Kids Varenyky Making Masterclass at Otakoï: Where Traditions Become Play

Today our dining room turned into a little world of colour, laughter, and flour-dusted hands 💫At Otakoï, we hosted a Kids Varenyky Making Masterclass — and it was everything we love about sharing Ukrainian culture with the next generation.

Children rolled dough, shaped their own varenyky, and played with colourful dough, turning traditional recipes into edible art. There were smiles everywhere, curious questions, and proud little chefs showing off their creations — proof that traditions don’t have to be serious to be meaningful.

While the kids were happily busy creating and learning, parents enjoyed a relaxed lunch at Otakoï - good food, warm atmosphere, and a little well-earned downtime. A perfect balance of fun for children and comfort for adults.

In Ukraine, varenyky are more than food. They’re about family, togetherness, and time spent around the table. By making them with their own hands, kids connect to culture through fun, creativity, and shared experience — and that’s exactly what today was about.

What made today special:

• Hands-on varenyky making

• Bright, colourful dough

• Stories about Ukrainian food traditions

• Happy kids & relaxed parents

• A welcoming space for families
