Time Out Social Club x Otakoï — a one-night Journey to Ukraine (Thu 18 June)

Some nights feel like dinner. This one is made to feel like a story you step into.

On Thursday 18 June, Otakoï is hosting a special Time Out Social Club evening as part of the Time Out Food & Drink Awards season — a celebration of the places locals love, the flavours that bring people together, and the venues that turn a meal into a memory.

Time Out Social Club x Otakoï

There are two seatings only - 5:30pm and 8:00pm - and each one is a guided, set-menu experience inspired by our Journey to Ukraine.

You’ll begin with shared plates that wake up the table - Ukrainian Meat Plate and House Pickle Selection, then settle into the heart of Ukrainian comfort: Borshch — the Ukrainian icon (deep, warming, and full of home). Next comes a Varenyky Tasting Plate, the kind of dumplings that belong at family gatherings and celebrations.

For your main, you’ll choose between Holubtsi (Stuffed Cabbage Rolls) or Pechenya, followed by traditional Ukrainian sweets to finish — because in Ukraine, dessert is never rushed. It’s the soft ending.

Before dinner, Hanna Kachura, who created Otakoï, will share a short welcome: the inspiration behind the restaurant, a little insight into Ukrainian culture through food, and what each course represents. It’s a small moment that changes the whole night - suddenly you’re not just eating, you’re travelling.

Tickets are $120 per person, including the set menu plus 1 soft drink (like uzvar or compot) and 1 drink (beer or Ukrainian nalyvka).

And when dinner ends, the night doesn’t have to. If you feel like stretching the evening into another chapter, head upstairs to OhTak Bar for cocktails and late-night energy — the perfect finish after a table full of stories.

It’s perfect if you’re looking for a new experience, a thoughtful gift for a foodie, or simply a reason to meet new people around a shared table.

Limited seats. Two sittings. One special night.

Come hungry. Leave connected.
