You may have noticed some beautiful new additions to our tables over the past couple of weeks. After a long journey from Ukraine, our new Pokutska Ceramics have settled into their home here at Otakoï, and now, we want to share the incredible story behind them.

We are so proud to feature authentic Pokutska Ceramics, handcrafted in the historic Pokuttya region of Western Ukraine (the region is now part of the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast in modern Ukraine).

The "Shlyahtyanskyi" Collection: Ceramics with a Noble Soul

We specifically chose the "Shlyahtyanskyi" (Noble) collection for our restaurant. These are not just plates, bowls, and mugs; they are works of art, each piece telling a story of ancient traditions and noble heritage.

Made from rich red clay and hand-painted with intricate patterns, this style of ceramics dates back centuries. The designs are elegant and timeless, meant to evoke a sense of dignity and history. Holding one of these handcrafted mugs or eating from one of these beautiful plates is like holding a piece of Ukrainian history in your hands. It connects you to the land, the artisans, and the generations of culture that have shaped our cuisine.

An Experience You Can Feel

We believe that the vessel a meal is served in is just as important as the food itself. These beautiful, soulful ceramics are now a part of your dining experience at Otakoï. They are the perfect companions for our hearty borshch, our delicate varenyky, and your morning coffee.

We invite you to come and see, feel, and experience them for yourself.

It's another layer of authenticity, another piece of our homeland that we are so proud to share with you.
