We’re proud to share that the exhibition is now on display at the Immigration Museum Melbourne, celebrating how food connects people, cultures, and communities across Australia.
While the exhibition opened to the public in October, the official celebration event took place on Monday, 3 November, bringing together artists, restaurateurs, and community representatives to honour the stories behind this meaningful project.
Featuring 33 restaurants and eateries from across Melbourne, Order Up highlights the city’s rich diversity through the lens of food. Otakoï Ukrainian Restaurant is deeply honoured to be among them – proudly representing Ukrainian cuisine and culture.
At the official opening, Otakoï owners Hanna and Michael attended to support the creators and celebrate the exhibition launch, joining Daniel Saade (Artist/Restaurateur) and Redmond Stevenson (Artist/Cinematographer), who presented their creative process and the story of bringing Order Up to life. Their work beautifully captures how food carries memory, identity, and belonging – connecting people far beyond the plate.

For many migrants, food is more than a meal; it’s a link to home, a way to share heritage, and a universal language of care. Order Up reminds us that behind every dish lies a story of migration, resilience, and community.
We’re truly proud to stand among this inspiring group of Melbourne venues and artists, sharing a piece of Ukrainian soul with the wider community.
